Admission Requirements

An applicant seeking admission to pursue a B.A. (Arts) Programme in a Ghanaian Language, Akan, Ewe or Ga, must satisfy the general requirements for admission into the University of Cape Coast.

  1. Post-Senior Secondary School Candidates
    The candidate must have passed in the Ghanaian languages he/she intends to read as one of the six (6) subjects at the SSSCE level.
  2. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Candidates
    The candidate must have a credit pass at GCE ‘O’ level and a pass with a grade not lower than D at ‘A’ Level in the Ghanaian Language he/she intends to read.
  3. Mature Students Examination Candidates
    In addition to prerequisite qualifications the candidate must have passed the Mature Students Examination in the Ghanaian language he/she intends to read.
  4. Post-Diploma Candidates
    In addition to prerequisite qualifications, the candidate must be a holder of a diploma with a minimum of Second Class Lower for admission to level 300. Holders of lower classes are advised to go through the Mature Students Examination.
